A boil advisory issued Tuesday afternoon for approximately 9,200 St. Joseph customers of Missouri American Water has been lifted.
Missouri American reports it lifted the precautionary boil water advisory at 7 o’clock Thursday morning.
The utility issued the boil advisory after a contractor struck a water main.
This boil advisory had wide-ranging effects. It included several schools within the St. Joseph School District.
The City of St. Joseph Health Department and the Social Welfare Board closed early Tuesday afternoon due to the boil advisory. Both reopened Wednesday morning.
