Marrion E. Hollars, 87, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024 at a Kansas City, MO care facility. He was born May 1, 1937 in Horton, KS, son of Etta and Louis Hollars. Marrion graduated from Troy High School, class of 1955. He was the long time Owner/Operator of Hairports Hair Salon, and also Hollars Realty. Marrion enjoyed spending his time gardening, fishing, and hunting. He was an animal lover, especially dogs and cats.
Marrion was preceded in death by wife, Patricia (Stains) Hollars, his parents, brother, Louis Hollars Jr, sisters, Opal (Jesse) Campbell, Louise (Robert) McGinnes, Lucille Guyer, and brother-in-law, Jesse Johnson. Survivors include: sons, Marlan (Pam) Hollars of Smithville, MO, son Marc (Debbie) Hollars of St. Joseph, and Matt Hollars of St Joseph, 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, brother, Robert "Bob" Hollars, sisters, Marie Johnson and Edna Chavez, and sister-in-law, Joyce Hollars.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Rupp Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday. Interment will follow at the Mount Olivet Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Friends of the Animal Shelter.
