The Lincoln women's basketball team picked up its first win of the season against Northwest Missouri State in a 72-46 victory in Jefferson City Thursday.

Mallory McConkey, Northwest's leading scorer at halftime, was limited due to foul trouble in the third quarter and fouled out with 9:09 remaining in the game.  Molly Hartnett led the Bearcats with 21 points.

Northwest falls to 4-8 on the season and have now lost six of their last seven games.

The No. 3 Northwest men, meanwhile, survived a thrilling game after senior forward Ryan Hawkins's put back with one second left lifted the Bearcats to a 76-74 win Thursday.

Northwest won its sixth straight game, improved to 11-1 on the season and extended its road win streak to 13 in a row- tied for the nation's longest active road winning streak.

Junior Trevor Hudgins led the Bearcats in scoring with 20 points.

Hawkins, meanwhile, tallied his second straight double-double and 23rd of his career with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

The Blue Tigers used a 19-7 run late in the second half to give themselves a 74-72 lead with 24 seconds remaining. Hudgins was fouled with 16.6 left and he sank both free throws to knot it back up at 74-74.

Following a Lincoln timeout with 14.4 to go, Lincoln's Quinton Drayton missed a potential go-ahead shot with seven seconds remaining and the shot was corralled by Dreamer.

Hudgins moved the ball down the floor and missed a shot from the right side, only to see Hawkins collect the rebound and put it back in for the game-winner with exactly one second left.

Both Northwest teams stay on the road Saturday, heading to Warrensburg to face Central Missouri. The women start things off at 1, with the men to follow at 3 p.m.
