Ron Ramsey, 76, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 10, 2023.
He was born on December 27, 1946, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Otis and Berniece Ramsey. He graduated from Lafayette High School and joined the U.S. Air Force where he served as a fire protection specialist.
He spent two years in Japan and one year in Saigon, South Vietnam, returning home in December 1969. In March 1970, he joined the St. Joseph Fire Department, retiring after 38 and a half years.
Ron was a Christian and a member of the Green Valley Baptist Church, where he served since 1989.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Gloria J. Ramsey (French); son, Bryan J. Ramsey of Columbia, MO; stepson, Rodney Smith of Texas; brother, Larry Ramsey (Jeanne) of Conroe, TX; sisters, Karen Patton (David) and Rita Peden (Ron) of St. Joseph, MO; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Farewell Services 1:00 P.M. Friday, Green Valley Baptist Church. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
