Franklin F. “Bud” Schoenfelder, 89, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026, at the Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph, Missouri.

Bud was born on January 6, 1937, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Francis and Elizabeth (Studer) Schoenfelder.

He was a member of the U.S. Navy and the Our Lady of Guadalope Catholic Church. Bud owned and operated Bud Sewer Service.

Bud married Ellen “June” Meers on May 19, 1956. She preceded him in death on September 19, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Matthew Schoenfelder, infant sister, Betty Lou, sister, Edna Mae Miller and brother, LaMonte “Lee” Schoenfelder.

Survivors include, sons, Mike Schoenfelder, Rick Schoenfelder (Teddi), Mark Schoenfelder (Patty); Daughters, Tammy Hulet (Steve) and Lori Schoenfelder (Liz Jalbert); 12 Grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; Brothers, Francis Jr., Larry, and Dwayne Schoenfelder; Sister, Pat Meers; Numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, St. Joseph, Missouri.

Rosary: 5:30 P.M. Friday evening at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home in Wathena, Kansas, with visitation to follow until 8:00 P.M. Friends may call after 10:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wathena, Kansas.
Memorials: St. Luke’s Heartland Gala Fund or KU/Jared Grantham Kidney Institute.
