Richard Edward "Rick" Weyer 67, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024, surrounded by family. He was born July 1, 1956, in St. Joseph, MO.
He attended Benton High School and married Deborah Despain on January 15, 1978. He was the owner operator of several local businesses throughout his life, including Weyer's auto salvage, and M&R auto repair. His longest running business was Big Lake Bait and Tackle where he was doing what he loved most. Rick enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping, but most of all spending time with his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, Wilma and Fernando Punzo, his mother, Donna Markham, father, Henry Weyer, sister, Deborah, and brothers, Bob & Donnie.
Survivors include wife, Deborah Weyer of the home, children: Mike (Willa) Messa, Mandy (Jeff) Smith, Sandy Messa, Terry (Theresa) Messa, Stacy (Jeremy) Lucker, and Stephanie (Mark) Morris, granddaughter Bailey, and several other grandchildren and great grandchildren, siblings; Sheila, Barbara, Lloyd and Brad, nephew Teddy Weyer, son in law, Leroy Gibson, and his beloved dog Orly.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and public live stream; 3:00 pm, Monday, June 24, 2024 at the Rupp Funeral Home, Rev Jim Barnett officiating.
