Stewartsville, Missouri…Bonnie Jean (Robinson) Greene was born August 21, 1928, and passed away July 3, 2023.
Bonnie was born in Phoenix, AZ, and attended Phoenix Central High School graduating in 1946. She attended the University of Arizona in Tucson where she pledged Pi Beta Phi. While at UofA, Bonnie met fellow student, Ivan R. Greene, and the couple married on May 28th, 1949. Bonnie completed her undergraduate degree at the UofA in 1950, and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Education from Arizona State University in Phoenix. Bonnie and Ivan moved their family of three sons from Phoenix to Stewartsville, MO, in 1959. Bonnie taught in the Easton and Cameron, MO schools before joining the faculty at Missouri Western State University in 1968. Bonnie retired in 1991 and was awarded Professor Emeritus status.
Bonnie was a member of the RLDS Church and an active member of the Maple Grove Congregation until she moved to Tallgrass Creek Retirement Community in Overland Park, KS, in 2009.
Bonnie is survived by her three sons, Mark Greene, Colorado Springs, CO, Scott Greene, Nagoya, Japan, and Bruce Greene, Seattle, WA. Additionally, there are 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2023, at Maple Grove cemetery with Gaylon Whitmer officiating. Maple Grove Cemetery is located 3 miles north of Stewartsville on Hwy N.
Bring lawn chairs as we will regroup at the Greene farm after the service for food/refreshments and more life celebration. Food will be catered. Greene farm is located at 9164 SW Orchard RD.
Funeral Services are under the direction of Turner Family Funeral Home of Stewartsville.
