Simmons shines, Hardy returns as No. 23 Tigers top Razorbacks

The No. 23 Missouri Tigers started off slow against the Arkansas Razorbacks, but Austin Simmons threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns, helping the Tigers to a 34-10 win at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetville, Arkansas.
The Tigers held just a 13-7 lead at the halftime break with the slow start. A 31 yard field goal from Blake Craig and a fumble recovery for a touchdown from Darris Smith gave Missouri the quick lead in the first quarter. Craig extended the lead in the second quarter with a 53 yard field goal, before Arkansas finally found the endzone near the end of the first half to cut the Missouri lead to six with a two yard run from K. J Jackson.
The third quarter was a swing in momentum however for the Tigers. On the opening drive to the second half, Simmons connected on a 15-yard touchdown with Donovan Olugbode to add to the lead, then after the Missouri defense forced another Arkansas fumble, Jamal Roberts added a two yard rushing touchdown to, pushing the Tigers ahead 27-7 at the end of the third quarter. Wildcats drop heartbreaker to Colorado in overtime

In a game that went back and forth, Colorado tight end Charlie Williams' only catch came on an 11-yard touchdown throw from Isaac Wilson in overtime, handing Kansas State a heartbreaking 27-24 overtime loss at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado.
Neither team could get much going through the game with scoring drives far and few between. Five consecutive punts opened the game before the Buffaloes scored the first points in the first quarter on a two yard rushing touchdown by Richard Young. The Wildcats missed a field goal on the ensuing drive, but in the second quarter forced a Colorado fumble, then answered as third string quarterback Blake Barnett found Josh Manning for a 28 yard touchdown pass, capping the first half scoring. The game went to the halftime break tied 7-7 after the Buffaloes were forced to punt and Kansas State could not put a drive together in 48 seconds to score.
It was slow again to start the second half with four consecutive punts, before Colorado scored to take the lead on a 47 yard run by JaQuail Smith. The Wildcats were able to answer though to keep the game tied heading into the final quarter as Barnett threw his second touchdown pass, finding Linkon Cure for a 33 yard score, tying the game 14-14 going into the fourth quarter.
The Buffaloes took the lead to start the fourth quarter, a 22 yard rushing touchdown by Young, and again on the ensuing drive the Wildcats missed a field goal unable to answer. After three consecutive drives ended in punts betwen the teams, Kansas State was able to force overtime with Barnett's three yard touchdown pass to Garrett Oakley with two seconds left in regulation.
But, after Colorado held Kansas State to a 25 yard field goal from Luis Rodriguez, his first make of the game, facing third-and-9 from the 11 yard line, Wilson faked a handoff to Young and hit Williams over the middle for the game-winner.
Barnett was 18-of-28 for 274 yards with three touchdowns adding 16 runs for 40 yards. Rodney Fields Jr rushed 12 times for 65 yards. Manning caught six passes for 73 yards and a touchdown while Cure added three catches for 65 yards and a score.

Jayhawks swap quarterbacks, fall after Horned Frogs second half rally

TCU's Max Carroll returned an interception 60 yards for a touchdown and quarterback Jaden Craig ran 17 yards for the go-ahead score capping a second half rally to help the Horned Frogs beat the Kansas Jayhawks 22-16 at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Jayhawks let the game slip away in the second half after going into the halftime break with a 13-0 lead over the Horned Frogs. Field goals from Martin Connington gave Kansas the initial lead, first hitting a 34 yard field goal in the first quarter before nailing a 42 yard kick in the second, and Kansas was finally able to find the endzone, led by quarterback Cole Ballard throwing a 29 yard touchdown pass to Cam Pickett just before halftime to extend the Jayhawks advantage.
In the second half, TCU began to storm back, cutting into the lead first with the pick six by Carroll, before taking a 14-13 lead on a 28 yard rushing touchdown from Ace Theus. In the fourth quarter, Kansas briefly retook the lead on Connington's 27-yard field goal after a 94-yard interception return by the Horned Frogs was wiped out by a pass interference penalty. After the field goal, Craig led a 13-play, 84-yard drive to give TCU the lead again, a drive where the Horned Frogs could have run the clock down for a final-play field goal when Craig scored.
The Jayhawks did have 1:04 remaining after the touchdown, a chance to put together a drive to score. However, with four seconds left after driving to the TCU 49 yard line, Ballard's deep pass attempt to the right side of the field was thrown incomplete ending the game. Ballard, starting in place of Isaiah Marshall, was 20-of-35 for 285 yards with a touchdown and an interception while running 13 times for 36 yards.
The running game was ineffective for Kansas in the loss. Dylan Edwards rushed 20 times for 42 yards and Keaton Kubecka added three carries for 58 yards. Nahzae Cox had five catches for 145 yards and Pickett added 10 receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown.
Up next, Kansas (3-5, 1-4 Big 12) returns to Lawerence and hosts UCF (4-4, 2-3 Big 12) on Saturday. Kickoff is at 2:45pm with the game airing on ESPN2.
