Juanita J. Haskins, 97, of St. Joseph, died January 23, 2024 at a local nursing home. Juanita was born January 19, 1927 in St. Joseph to Leo H. and Katherine (Cole) Cochran.
She taught at Webster school; retiring in 1988.
Juanita married Bill G. Haskins on April 17, 1948, and he preceded her in death on November 20, 2021. Also preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers, Leo, David, and Roger Cochran and son-in-law Elmer Mayse.
Survivors include children, Kathy (Dennis) Schildknecht of Hollister, MO, Jo Mayse of Country Club, MO, Randy Haskins (Susan) of Fuquay-Varina, NC; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, N.W. Missouri Genealogical Society and the Pony Express Square Dancers. Juanita enjoyed knitting, traveling, square dancing, and genealogy.
Memorial contributions to Calvary Baptist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
Services will be Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12 noon prior to the service on Saturday.
