Maurice C. Hearn, 89, passed away on Sunday January 18, 2026.
Maurice is survived by his grandchildren, Lisa Kaestner and Marcus Drennon.
Maurice was a long time, well-respected, member in the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Kansas. As a youth, in 1951 he began as an active member in the Order of De-Molay in Missouri Valley, IA. In July of 1972 he was initiated into the King Solomon Lodge #10, in Leavenworth, KS and was later raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason. Ultimately, he served as Master of that Lodge in1977-78. Answering the call to greater responsibility, he served as District Deputy Grand Master for Area #3, Grand Lodge of Kansas in 1987, and Area Deputy Grand Master in 1991.He concurrently furthered his pursuit of knowledge and expertise within the York Rite, Royal Arch, and Knights Templar, rising to the position of Commander of the Leavenworth Commandery #1 in 1979.Not one to remain idle, in 1982 he also worked with the Byington Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star #177, in Leavenworth, KS; in 1984, the Grand York Rite of Kansas, Red Cross of Constantine, St Justin Conclave #15002 in Kansas City, KS; and in 1990, the All-Saints Tabernacle LVI, Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests, Grand York Rite of Kansas in Kansas City, KS. In 2013, he left King Solomon Lodge #10 and waswelcomed into the Easton Lodge #45, A.F. & A.M., where he was a cherished member until his passing.
Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 4 to 5 P.M. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Rose Hill Cemetery at noon in Missouri Valley Iowa. Memorials may be given to the Easton Masonic Lodge. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel.
