Deputies capture Kansas felon wanted in two states

BROWN COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations.

On May 18,  Sheriff's deputies went to a residence  in Hiawatha, Kansas, attempting to locate a wanted felon who was wanted on multiple Brown County Warrants, according to Sheriff John Merchant.

Deputies were allowed to look for Derek Frakes, 38, of Hiawatha  and he was located inside the residence and placed under arrest.    

Deputies  gathered information while locating Frakes which led to the approval of a search warrant  at the 711 Iowa residence. Brown County Sheriff's Office Drug Task Force initiated the warrant. 

Frakeswas arrested on a $500 and $10,000 Brown County Felony Probation Vioation Warrants,  $25,000  Brown County Felony Failure to Appear Warrant, $2500Platte County Missouri Felony  Warant for Possession of Marijuana and $2500Platte County Felony Warrant for Distribution or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for Illegal Use.

Frakes is also facing requested charges of Possession of Meth, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
