Jason T. Guthery, 39, a dedicated educator, coach, and beloved father, passed away on December 30th, 2023. Born on June 11th, 1984, in St. Joseph, Missouri, Jason lived a life marked by compassion, commitment, and an unwavering desire to enrich the lives of others.
Jason left a lasting impact as a pillar of the community through his 15 years of teaching and coaching at Lafayette High School. He graduated from the same high school in 2003 before pursuing his passion for education at Northwest Missouri State University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in 2007. He was also a member of the Delta Chi fraternity at Northwest. The students and athletes he mentored were his pride and joy, and he was always there for them, both on and off the field.
He is survived by his loving parents, Stephen and Diane Guthery; twin daughters, Hazel Jeane and Cecily Anne; siblings, Brett Guthery (Jess) and Kelsey Guthery; and his nieces, Madilynn and Millie Guthery.
Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents, Red and Betty Lacy, and Jerry Guthery; and great-grandparents Marila and Roy Guthery.
