Helen Edith (McClure) Farmer 1938 - 2023

Helen Edith (McClure) Farmer, 85, of Monett, Missouri went to meet her Lord on October 19, 2023.  She lived in St. Joseph all her life until 2017 when she moved to Monett to be close to her daughter Cherielea; who took wonderful care of her and spent many, many hours with her.

Helen was born September 10, 1938, the middle daughter, to Floyd James and Claudia Marie (Perry) McClure.  She married Currie Eugene Farmer in 1958 and later divorced.  They had two daughters, Cherielea Smith (Albert) of Monett and Chelle Adkins of Kansas City.  She has three grandchildren; James Sisney of Independence, Nicole Walker (Jeremy) of Cassville, Mollea McDonald (Donnie) of Monett and five great grandchildren; Kaydence, Breanna, Izyk, and Denver Walker all of Cassville, and Laella McDonald of Monett and  Lewis Sisney of Independence and great great grandson Rayden Harrison of Monett.

Helen graduated from Lafayette High School and Platt College of Commerce in St. Joseph.  She was employed at Heuman Dental Laboratory, Bartlett Mortgage Company, Hoover Company, First Baptist Church and American Family Insurance from which she retired.  She also served several years at the voting polls.

Helen was a member of New Site Baptist Church and a former member of Wyatt Park Baptist Church, where she served many years as a greeter.  She organized the LMN (Lord's Middle Navigators) Group at First Baptist Church and Mature Christian Singles Group at Wyatt Park Baptist Church.  She was a former member of Eagles Auxilary, Lovers Lane American Business Women Association, where she was Woman of The Year. She loved playing cards and belonged to several card  groups.  She was a former member of Toastmasters, Parents Without Partners, St. Joseph and Kansas City Western Swing Square Dance Clubs, Writer's Guild and the Reunion Committee of Lafayette High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her two sisters Margie McClure and Catherine Seals and her significant other James MacDonald.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord!
