Week 2 (September 2) - East Buchanan @ Savannah. An intriguing out-of-conference matchup between the defending Class 1 state champions and the Class 4 Savages out of the MEC. Week 3 (September 9) - Benton @ Lafayette. North Side vs. South Side. Lafayette has had the better of this series in recent years, winning last year's battle 28-14. Lafayette is under new leadership this season with Scott Finley. Game is live on StJosephPost.com. Link to listen here.
Week 4 (September 16) - Bishop LeBlond @ St. Joseph Christian. LeBlond should be strong again this year after making it to state quarterfinals last season. Christian is in their second season back in the eight-man ranks, and return a wealth of players from a young roster last year. Game is live on StJosephPost.com. Link to listen here.
Week 5 (September 23) - Savannah @ Benton. An old MEC rivalry. Savannah beat the Cardinals last year 27-0. Benton seeks its first winning season since 2010 - Savannah its first since the district title season in 2019. Game is live on StJosephPost.com. Link to listen here.
Week 6 (September 30) - Stanberry @ North Andrew. Another solid GRC eight-man matchup between a pair of playoff contenders. Stanberry lost some talented seniors, while North Andrew returns a lot of talent and looks to stay healthier during the season. Game is live on StJosephPost.com. Link to listen here.
Week 7 (October 7) - Mound City @ South Holt. The Knights could be one to watch in eight-man after a 7-3 mark last season. This game was close last year, with the Knights edging the Panthers 24-20. Game is live on KFEQ. 680 AM, 95.3 FM, 680kfeq.com and the KFEQ app.
Week 8 (October 14) - Mid-Buchanan @ East Buchanan. Need we say more? The archrivals split the series last year - both games in Faucett. Week 9 (October 21) - Truman @ St. Joseph Central. Central receiver Anthony Vassar will be one of the more exciting athletes in the region this year, as he's been getting Division I looks. Truman has won one total game the last four seasons combined. Could be a chance for the Indians to score a nice win at home to end the regular season. Game is live on KFEQ. 680 AM, 95.3 FM, 680kfeq.com and the KFEQ app.
Postseason schedule is to be determined, but any postseason games will be carried on KFEQ with pregame starting at 6:30. Friday Night Lights will end with the regular season. Full game stories and recaps will be posted after each game on StJosephPost.com.
