St. Joseph police have identified the person killed in that early Friday morning house fire.
The St. Joseph Police Department reports 65-year-old Dawayne Harris died in the fire near the intersection of Jamesport Street and Industrial Road.
Firefighters responded to the fire around three o’clock Friday morning. Harris was taken to the hospital, but later died of his wounds.
Two firefighters suffered injuries severe enough to require medical attention. The St. Joseph Fire Department reports the two firefighters were treated and released.
The fire remains under investigation.
