Philip Steven Clark 1942 - 2023

Philip Steven Clark, 81, of Leavenworth, passed away on March 19, 2023.

Philip was born on February 27, 1942 in Sabetha, Kansas.  In 1986 he married, the love of his life, Patricia Anne McClanahan.

Philip earned at Bachelors at Doane University and then he acquired a Masters in Music at Indiana University.

Philip served in the United States Army, where he participated in the United States Army Band.

Philip was a civil service worker in the CARL Library on Fort Leavenworth, Kansas for over 30 years. Prior to working in civil service, he taught music at the University level.

Philip enjoyed steam engines and vintage architecture. He was faithfully devoted to the scriptures and divulged himself daily in bible studies. He was a composer of a variety of different classical music styles from opera to string quartet.

Philip gave yearly piano recitals at the Leavenworth Carnegie Performing Arts Center. He expanded on all of the genres of music to share the endless repertoire of music each year at the yearly recitals.

Philip was the church organist for various congregations over the years. He never missed a service at All Nations SDA until a week before he passed. He was very active at All Nations Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Philip is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Clark.

Philip is survived by his wife, Patricia Clark, a brother, Dennis Clark, some bonus children, as well as many cousins.

Visitation will be held at the All Nations Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 528 Spruce St., Leavenworth, Kansas, on Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 2 to 3 P.M. Memorial service will follow at 3 P.M. Burial will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel.
