Michael Eugene Smith 65, of Rushville, MO., passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at KU Medical Center, Kansas City, KS. He was born September 24, 1958 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Della and Jasper Frakes.
He married Wilma Post on January 1st, 1980 and she survives of the home. He worked for Buchanan County in the Road Maintenance department. Mike loved animals, fishing, camping, playing pitch, spending time with his family. He was very quick witted, and loved being around his family and friends. He was an awesome father, a great friend and a Rock we could all depend on.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include wife, Wilma Smith of the home, children: Michelle Smith (Ronnie Scofield), Rushville, MO, Randi Smith (David Sampson), Rushville, MO, Jasper (Jamie Cantrell) Smith, Camdenton, MO, Samantha Smith, (Jonathan Roberts), Rushville, MO, grandchildren: Dalton Scofield, Anna Sampson, Riley Pyles, Preston & Jazzy Smith, Greyson Smith, Cadence, Carter & Cali Roberts, great-granddaughter, Briella Scofield, sisters; Sharon (Kelly)Beckett, Linda (Jimmy Bally) McDowell, Martha Sutton, brothers, David (Chris) Smith, Richard Smith, and Robert Frakes.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and public live stream 10:00 am Saturday at the Rupp Funeral Home., the Interment will be at the Kerlin Cemetery, Halls, MO.
