John Phillip Silvy, 73, Wathena, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
He was born October 21, 1950 in Caldwell, Idaho to Dorrel and Louise (Staudinger) Silvy. John was a graduate of Wathena High School Class of 1969. John served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
After his service, he earned his bachelor’s degree and was an electrical engineer at General Electric for 25 years.
John enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a member of the VFW Post 5531 and enjoyed calling Bingo on Thursdays.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include three brothers; Dorrel (Carolyn), Nova, Robert and six sisters; Ada, Rosemary, Romona (Tom), Kathy, Christine, Patricia (Bill) and numerous nieces and nephews.
