Vertical, a medical cannabis dispensary in St. Joseph is having its grand opening celebration tomorrow.
During the grand opening this weekend Vertical will provide the opportunity for residents to apply for patient card certifications.
Vertical spokesperson Tammy Puyear says Vertical wants the community of St. Joseph to feel a sense of ownership with the company.
“We want them to associate us with high quality products, products that work for them, a staff at the dispensary that makes them feel like the important and valued patient that they are and that we genuinely want to help them,” Puyear tells St. Joseph Post.
Puyear says there’s a big difference between a headshop in the 70s versus a medical cannabis dispensary.
“The dispensary will have no scent to it what so ever,” says Puyear. “It won’t be like a headshop where you walk in and it smells like Patchouli and sandalwood and there’s incense burning.”
Puyear says today's cannabis is not quite what it used to be.
“Today’s legal cannabis typically has much higher THC levels in it then say what you would buy from the guy down the street in the 80’s,” says Puyear.
Puyear says if a patient is new to cannabis, they need to think about what condition they are trying to treat.
The dispensary is located at 908 N Belt Highway. For store hours, visit Vertical’s website here.
