St. Joseph police report responding to two shootings overnight.

Police report officers responded to a shots fired call shortly before 7 o’clock last night at the apartment complex at 2807 Pembroke Lane. Police say one shot was fired from an assault rifle during a domestic disturbance. No one was hurt in the incident. One person was taken into custody.

Officers responded to a call from Mosaic Life Care hospital in St. Joseph after a man checked himself into the emergency room shortly after midnight, suffering from a single gunshot wound to his left upper thigh. Police say the wound is not life-threatening. The wounded man claims he was sitting in his car near 17th and Olive when a man shot him while attempting to rob him, though police say they have found nothing to support his story.
