LeRoy Stingley October 18, 1925-March 21, 2026

LeRoy Stingley, 100, Stanberry, MO passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026, at his home.

He was born On October 18, 1925, in Warsaw, Missouri the son of Claude and Grace (Tucker) Stingley.

In July of 1951, he married Charlene Jones. She survives of the home.

LeRoy grew up on a farm east of Guilford, MO and attended the one room Pleasant View School until eighth grade and then graduated from Guilford High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served during World War II, shipping out to Europe in late 1944 as a member of the 273rd Infantry Regiment of the 69th Infantry Division. He returned stateside in May of 1946. Following his service, LeRoy worked for 15 years as a watchmaker at Coverdell Jewelry on the square at Stanberry. He also operated Stingley Rentals for 30 years, managing numerous properties around town. He maintained the Stingley Flower Shop and Greenhouse with his commitment to the business spanning more than 65 years and later on his sons, Randy and Lonnie, took over management with LeRoy remaining involved until his health no longer allowed. He was a member of the Stanberry American Legion and the Stanberry United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In addition to his wife, LeRoy is survived by his sons, Randy and Lonnie Stingley and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 26 at the United Methodist Church, Stanberry, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Stanberry, MO. Burial with Military Rites will follow in High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church.
