Frances Elaine (Bell) Brooke, 89, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024.
She was born on August 24, 1934, to Roy Dickerson and Mamie Grace (Judd) Bell in Bethany, Missouri.
She graduated from Bethany High School in 1951. Later that year, on October 1st, she married Ora A. Brooke. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2014.
She was a former member of the Bethel FCE (Family Community Education), Andrew County Extension Council, and board member at Shady Lawn. Frances was also the former president of the Blair School PTA.
Frances spent many years as a homemaker, providing a home full of love and laughter for her four children. She extended that love as a foster parent, welcoming children in need into her home. Frances’ home also served as an in-home daycare for children in the community.
She was a devoted mother and very involved in her children’s extracurricular activities. She was a proud Eagle Scout mom to her three sons.
Frances also enjoyed giving back to her community, often volunteering with the local food kitchen. She had a servant’s heart and extended kindness to everyone she met.
After her husband retired, they traveled the world together. From coast to coast, they visited Alaska, Hawaii, Tijuana, Nova Scotia, New Zealand and Australia, just to name a few.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sisters, Doris Nina Rawls and Helen Louise Helton.
Survivors include her children, Michael Brooke (Karen), Tom Brooke (Debbie), Patricia E. Supple (Terry) and Jeff Brooke (Julia), ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Farewell Services 3:00 P.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Savannah Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
