Esther Carol Lawhon, 84, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024 at a local health care facility.
Carol was born on January 8, 1940 in Flag Springs, Missouri; to the late Merrill and Katherine (Trickett) Parham. She was a 1958 graduate of King City High School, and later obtained her Associates Degree from Missouri Western State University.
Carol married Stephen Lawhon on September 26, 1958, to that union five children were born. She was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to raising her family.
In addition to being a full-time homemaker, she also worked for City Hall and AmeriCore.
Carol shared her birthday with Elvis Presley and was a lifelong fan. She also was a talented singer and yodeler. She enjoyed camping in the Ozarks, solving Wheel of Fortune puzzles, had a green thumb for plants and collected cork bottles. Her greatest pride and joy was that of her family. She was especially a very proud grandmother and enjoyed attending all their special events and milestones.
Carol is survived by her children, Kim Kellogg (Tim), Brian Lawhon, Lea Cooper, Eric Lawhon; daughter-in-law, Stacy Hartley; nineteen grandchildren, Danielle, Kristan, Alison, Brandon, Ryan, Jacob, Jordan, Hunter, Emma, Andre', Andrew, Samantha, Erik, Kaleb, Katelyn, Colby, Asha, Justin and Josh; twenty four great-grandhildren; five great-great-grandchildren and special cousins, Betty and Georgie
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen; son, Stephen Christopher Lawhon; grandson, Adam Reital and great-great grandson, Zayd Lawhon-Simmons.
Funeral Service 3:00 PM Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel, where the family will receive friends one hour prior starting at 2:00 PM, located at 307 S. 6th Street, Savannah, MO 64485. Interment to follow at the Savannah Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Noyes Home.
