St. Joseph man found guilty of trafficking methamphetamine

A St. Joseph man has been found guilty by a Buchanan County jury of trafficking drugs.

Paul David Chaney has been found guilty of trafficking in the second degree.

The jury found Chaney guilty of possessing more than 450 grams of methamphetamine on March 1st, 2023 during a drug bust by the Buchanan County Drug Strike Force and St. Joseph Police Department. Officers found the methamphetamine at his home on N. 3rd Street.

While officers served the search warrant a man arrived at the home to purchase methamphetamine.

A sentencing hearing has been set for April 4th.
