Donald L. Katlin passed away peacefully at his home on February 12, 2024. He was 94 years old. Donald was born and lived his early life on the West side of Kansas City, Missouri. He lived his later life in rural Platte County, near Farley. He married Barbara J. Hazeslip on January 9 1951, in DeWitt, AR. They were married for 56 years, until she passed in 2007. Donald worked at the Kansas City Stock Yards as a young man. Then he eventually followed in his father’s footsteps and began working at the Gas Service Company. He began as a ditch digger and had many positions during his 39 years with the Gas Company, and he retired happily as the Mechanic Shop Foreman. Donald enjoyed collecting all kinds of things he found value in. What many may have considered junk, he thought of as treasurers. He enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing, and especially spending time with his family at the lake. He was also a loyal patron of our local casinos. He is survived by his four children; 2 sons, Donnie and Keith, and 2 daughters, Carol and Kathy, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren in both Missouri and Maine.
