Anna Pearl Goodpaster Cox 1938 - 2024

Anna Pearl Goodpaster Cox, 86, of Weston, MO passed away July 7, 2024

She was born on April 4, 1938, to Morgan Daily and Violet Dawn (Galbreath) Goodpaster in Marion, Indiana where she grew up and graduated from Marion High School. She then served her country in the U.S. Air Force from 1958-1961. Anna Pearl received her bachelor’s degree and her master’s degree from St. Mary’s College in Leavenworth, KS.

On November 25, 1964, she was united in marriage to Rev. John Cox. After their marriage they lived in Weston, MO. Rev. John Cox passed away in 1967. Anna continued to make her home in Weston.

Anna Pearl retired as a drug and alcohol counselor from Ft. Leavenworth Hospital in Leavenworth, KS. She loved all God’s creatures large and small and enjoyed mushroom hunting, taking walks and just being in nature. Anna Pearl enjoyed being around and helping people and caring for them. Most of all, she loved being with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. John Cox; her parents Morgan and Violet Goodpaster; her brothers Michael Goodpaster and David Goodpaster; her nephews Jason Goodpaster and Zachariah Crawford; and her nieces Madawna Greer and Shelley Goodpaster.

Anna Pearl is survived by her sisters Charlene Bishop, Billie Jean Lovelady, and Becky O’Connor; brother J.B. Goodpaster; nieces and nephews Jeanie Lovelady, Jan Dunkel, Jennifer Piette, Leann Downing, Walter Bishop, Florence Schimmel, Tatiana Crawford, Shawn O’Connor, Timmothy O’Connor, Julie Goodpaster, Brenda Rhodes, and Karry Goodpaster; several great- nieces and great- nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Private family graveside will be held at a later date.
