COVID-19 death reported as new cases spike in Buchanan County

St. Joseph health officials reported an additional coronavirus-related death on Tuesday and a spike in new COVID-19 cases.

A man in his 60’s with underlying health conditions has died from COVID-19. Buchanan County now has recorded a total of 46 deaths due to COVID-19.

St. Joseph health officials report 70 new cases after reporting a dip down to 13 on Saturday, 38 on Sunday, and 25 on Monday.

Andrew County reported 25 new cases on its COVID-19 dashboard, bringing its total of 653.

Doniphan County, Kansas has recorded 200 total cases.

Mosaic Life Care reports it is treating 62 COVID-19 patients in St. Joseph and three in Maryville as of Wednesday morning.

Mosaic has now tested 41,527 area residents with 3,668 testing positive.

Missouri health officials say the state total of COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began now stands at 172,717, leading to 2,838 deaths.

Kansas health officials report 78,676 total cases and 976 deaths.
