KANSAS CITY (AP) - Daniel Lynch pitched eight scoreless innings, Jorge Soler homered twice and Salvador Perez once to lead the Kansas City Royals to a 6-1 win over the Detroit Tigers Sunday.
The Royals took a 4-0 first-inning lead as Perez hit a three-run homer and Soler followed with a solo shot. He also homered in the third.
Lynch (1-2) allowed five hits in earning his first major league win. Just like that, the Royals have won five straight and completed a three-game sweep of Detroit.
The Royals stay home Monday to open a four-game series against the Chicago White Sox. First pitch is set for 7:10, pregame at 6:30 on KFEQ (680 AM, 95.3 FM). Mike Minor starts on the mound.
