WORTH COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just before 5p.m. Monday in Worth County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2003 Chrysler Town and Country driven by Dylan T. Gavigan, 18, Sheridan, was eastbound on Walnut Street just east of MO 246 in Sheridan.
The van began to slide on the ice and snow. It slid off the south side of the road, struck a tree and returned to the road. The van then slid off the north side of the road, struck a sign, a concrete walkway and tree.
Lifeflight transported Gavigan to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. Nodaway County EMS transported a 13-year-old passenger to Mosaic in Maryville. They were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP.
