The United Way of Greater St. Joseph has the goal of putting together 900 meal kits for those in need this summer across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas.
To get there, they're putting on three Caring Connection events, calling on volunteers to turn out and put together these kits for families who face higher food bills as summer rolls on.
"Summer break often means higher grocery bills for families as children spend more time at home and no longer have access to school meals," said United Way President Kylee Strough.
The dates and times are as follows, all at the United Way building, 118 South 5th Street:
- Tuesday, June 23rd, 5:30-7 PM
- Thursday, June 25th, 10:30 AM-Noon
- Saturday, June 27th, 9:30-11 AM
