William (Bill) Johnson, Sr., 86, of Leavenworth, KS passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2026. Bill was born on November 28,1939 in Platte County, MO to Charlie Johnson, Sr. and Tollie Lee McCarty Carl. He grew up in Platte County and graduated from Weston High School.
Bill was a hard-working man. He worked as a body man at Collard Chevrolet and later at the overhaul base for TWA/American Airlines. He retired from American Airlines after many dedicated years of service.
Bill’s hobbies included wine making, gardening and hotrods. He spent many hours at car shows with his sons and grandchildren. His love of fast cars was something he passed down to his boys as well as the grandkids. He loved going to Weston and visiting the many friends he had in the Moonshiners Car Club.
Though he did not like to be the center of attention, he deserved to have his years of fatherly love honored. He was a man of integrity, kindness, generosity and humor. He left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Bill is survived by his sons: Bill, Jr. (Sandy), Scott (Robin) and Todd. His grandchildren: Reve, Steve, Ashley, Devan and Brayden and his great grandchildren, Chloe, Landon, Zaden, Austin, Hailey, and Weston.
He is also survived by a sister Maggie Connin and her children Wanetta Davis and Karen Cutler and his four nieces and nephews who he was like a second father to: Charla Yoder, Debie Asher, Charles Johnson and Danny Johnson.
He is predeceased by his parents, a brother Charlie Johnson and a sister, Jinnie Johnson.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 12 – 1 p.m. follow by funeral at 1 p.m. at Davis Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Weston, Missouri.
