Donald “Rex” Hart, 92, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025.
He was born January 23, 1933 to Louis and Laura M. (Bryson) Hart in Cosby, Missouri.
He married Faye Alliene Gardner on November 15, 1952.
Before embarking on his professional journey, he proudly served in the United States Army. His military service was a testament to his character, marked by the same principles of commitment and integrity that he would continue to exhibit in his civilian life.
Rex had a successful career in maintenance with Swift Armour Meat Packing Plant, where he remained a steadfast employee for over two decades. Later, he transitioned his career to Sisters Hospital, which eventually became Heartland Regional Medical Center for another 20 years.
Rex was a devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. His faith was a cornerstone of his existence, providing him with strength and guidance.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack Hart.
Survivors include his wife, Faye; daughter, Deborah Meers (Thomas); grandchildren, Cory Whipple, Libby Taff, Lacey Meers, and Ben Meers; great-grandchildren, Lucy Whipple, Gus Whipple, and Mateo Lopez.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, St. Paul Lutheran Church. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
