Darlene L. Conner, 82, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025.
She was born November 1, 1942 in St. Joseph to Hensley and Lois (Richards) Harper. She was a graduate of Central High School.
Darlene married Roy Conner on June 13, 1959. He preceded her in death on April 25, 2025.
She co-owned and operated RC Air Conditioning for many years, then Roy’s AC Service.
Darlene was a member of Brookdale Presbyterian Church and the ASPCA.
An avid bowler, Darlene also loved flowers. Holidays were very important to her, where she kept up family traditions.
Darlene was the most fun mom and she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years, Roy; son, Steve Conner; granddaughter, Alicia Conner; son-in-law, Leonard Shewmaker; brother, Larry Harper; and sister, Jean Keene.
Survivors include children, Rodney Conner of Faucett, Missouri, Sandy Howell (Mark) of Tallahassee, Florida, Teresa Tupica (Mark) of Agency, Missouri, and Meloney Shewmaker of Rosendale, Missouri; stepdaughter, Linda Tworek of Savannah, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Private family services at a later date. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to Mosaic Life Care Hospice.
