Lloyd W. Pasley, 94, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026.
He was born January 21, 1932 to Homer D. and Dora B. (Hockaday) Pasley in St. Joseph, Missouri.
On June 8, 1952, Lloyd married Barbara Ann Archdekin, and together they shared a long and loving marriage. Barbara preceded him in death on February 13, 2024.
Lloyd graduated from Central High School in 1950, and soon after began a life of service that would define much of his adult years. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1949 to 1958, carrying with him the discipline, pride, and sense of duty that became hallmarks of his character.
Following his time in the Marine Corps, Lloyd devoted nearly 37 years serving as Chief of Detectives and Deputy Chief to the St. Joseph Police Department. He retired in 1994 as Interim Chief.
He was a member of Community of Christ Church. He also valued the friendships and traditions formed through his many affiliations, including Marine Corps League #180 and Disabled American Veterans. He was a former member of St. Joseph Lodge #78 A.F. & A.M.; 32 Degree Scottish Rite Mason, FBI National Academy Associates, VFW Post #1668, and American Legion Post #359.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; parents, Homer and Dora Pasley; and brother, Dennis Pasley.
Survivors include his children, Renee Beggs of St. Joseph, MO and Lynn Pasley (Dixie) of Mustang, OK; grandchildren, Angela Elder (Shawn) of St. Joseph, MO and Morgan Thomas (Christopher) of Madison, WI; great grandchild, Maddox Lloyd Thomas of Madison, WI; 4 step grandchildren; and 5 step great grandchildren.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 11, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday, May 10, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Noyes Home for Children or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
