The City of Saint Joseph announced Wednesday the appointment of Chance Gallagher as its Director of Public Works.

Gallagher had been the interim director since April, when Abe Forney left to pursue work in the private sector. Prior to that, Gallagher has held multiple titles with the city stretching over the past ten years, including overseeing Go St. Joe and Rosecrans Airport as the deputy director of transportation.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and in Emergency and Disaster Management from Northwest Missouri State University, a Master's of Business Administration and of Public Administration.

Gallagher had this to say in the announcement release from the city: “St. Joseph’s infrastructure is the foundation everything else is built on, how our residents get to work, how goods move through our community, how we protect our wastewater and manage our resources... I am honored to step into this role and committed to building on the strong work of this department while continuing to push forward for the people of St. Joseph.”
