COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to moderate in northwest Missouri with Mosaic Life Care reporting 53 coronavirus patients in St. Joseph, three in Maryville, and two in Albany.
Mosaic has now tested more than 60,136 area residents with 7,765 testing positive. Mosaic is awaiting results from 46 tests.
The St. Joseph Health Department last reported coronavirus cases on Wednesday before breaking for the Christmas holiday. On Wednesday, St. Joseph health officials reported 58 new cases and three additional deaths. Buchanan County has recorded a total of 7,977 cases, resulting in 124 deaths.
Andrew County has recorded 1,580 cases and 16 deaths.
Doniphan County, Kansas has recorded 670 cases.
Missouri has recorded 383,616 cases and 5,316 deaths.
Kansas has recorded 209,689 cases and 2,507 deaths.
