2 adults, 3 children hospitalized after car strikes tree in Nodaway Co.

NODAWAY COUNTY—Five people were injured in an accident just before 12:30p.m. Saturday in Nodaway County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2014 Toyota Camry driven by Andrea J. Hornbuckle, 40, Hopkins, was northbound on Route FF three miles west of Hopkins.

The car traveled off the east side of the road, returned to the road, crossed the center line, traveled off the west side of the road down an embankment and struck a tree.

Nodaway County ambulance transported Hornbuckle and an 8-year-old  boy both of Hopkins to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.

Nodaway County Ambulance transported passenger Shannon S. Hornbuckle, 37, a 10-year-old boy and a 6-year-old boy, all of Hopkins to Mosaic in Maryville.  The 6-year-old was later transferred by air ambulance to Children's Mercy.

The driver and 6-year-old were not wearing seat  belts, according to the MSHP.
