The YMCA of St. Joseph, in partnership with the City of St. Joseph, Buchanan County, and Mosaic Life Care, will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the Mid America National Aquatic Center at 1:00 p.m. on March 24.

The event will take place at the Campus Family YMCA, located at 3601 N. Village Drive.

The ceremony marks the start of construction on a 49,000-square-foot indoor facility, designed as an expansion of the existing YMCA building. The project aims to restore and expand long-term aquatics access for families, competitive athletes, local schools, and senior citizens throughout Northwest Missouri.

The project represents a multi-agency effort to bolster recreational infrastructure and wellness resources for the Buchanan County area.
