Mary Lucille Martens passed away peacefully at the age of 94. She lived a full and faithful life marked by deep love for God, people, and family.

As a young woman, she became a born-again Christian and walked with Jesus every day of her life. She studied her Bible faithfully, led Bible studies, and devoted many years to serving children through Child Evangelism Fellowship. She also supported missions wholeheartedly, with a special love for Wycliffe Bible Translators. She was a member of Church of the Open Door in Leavenworth, KS

She worked in civil service at Munson Army Hospital and later spent many years working alongside her husband in the Shaklee organization. Wherever she went, she formed lasting relationships and poured herself into serving others.

Over the years, she gave her time and heart to many and was involved with causes including those affected by Alzheimer's disease, breast cancer, aging-related needs in her community, and Autism Speaks. She truly cared about others, and it showed in how she lived.

She loved people and loved being with them, especially her family. She traveled anywhere in the world to visit those she loved and made it a priority to attend every one of her grandchildren’s high school and college graduations. She enjoyed crocheting, flowers, painting, writing poetry, and was known for her love of coffee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Anna Allen; her husband, Billy Martens; her daughter, Susan Martens Barnett; brothers, Leo Allen and Eldon “Gene” Allen; and sister, Martine.

She is survived by her sisters, Geraldine Dohrn and Joan Buchanan; her son, Michael Martens, and daughter, Linda Martens Royer; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom were deeply loved.

Her faith was steady, her kindness genuine, and her life a testimony of quiet devotion. She will be greatly missed.
