In loving memory of Wendall Gene Conard, who peacefully passed away on January 9, 2024, in Springfield MO.
Wendall was born on July 26, 1932 in Grant City, MO. Before leaving for the army, he married Donna Ilene Murphy, of Albany MO, on February 27, 1954. Widowed on May 24, 2019, after a cherished marriage of 65 years.
After discharge from the Army, Wendall went to work as a heavy machinery mechanic for International Harvester/Davis Machinery until his retirement in 1996. After 3 years of being a full time retiree, he returned to work as a part time parts delivery driver for Clark’s Tool in Claycomo MO. Wendall enjoyed being a church door greeter wherever he resided: Maryville MO (First Baptist), Springfield MO (South Haven Baptist) & Liberty MO (Pleasant Valley).
Survivors include his 4 children: Ronald Conard of Buffalo, MO (Rita) and his 3 daughters of Springfield MO; Cathy Mallory (Larry), Joy Childers (Brett) & Carole Fortner (Gary); grandchildren & great grandchildren: Brad Conard (Laura) & children Steven & Chloe; Brian Conard & son William; Christopher Childers & daughters Hadley, Aria & Everly; James Fortner (Teri) & children Spencer & Emily; & Melanie Fortner. All reside in Springfield & surrounding area.
Interment will be at a later date in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO.
