It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Clifton, who departed this life on December 5, 2025 in Blue Eye, MO. Born on February 12, 1943, with her twin sister Bonnie, to her parents Jane Clark Lake and Thomas Lake and grew up in Parkville, MO.
Barbara met her husband Bobby while working at the A&W Root Beer stand. They were married on November 19, 1961. After their marriage, they traveled to the Philippines, Puerto Rico and Virginia while Bobby served in the U.S. Navy. Upon retiring from the Navy, they moved to California where they lived for 22 years until moving to Blue Eye, MO to enjoy their retirement years.
Barbara was very active with her church community where she served as an accountant, was a member of the choir, and organized fundraisers and bake sales.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Bobby Clifton, her children Cynthia Clifton, Thomas Clifton, and Connie Miles, grandchildren Billy Ray Young, Kaitlin Johnson, Keith, Garret and Ellie Miles, great-grandson Parker Johnson and sister Bonnie Roller.
Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those whose lives she enriched.
Services will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Hixson-Klein in Smithville, MO, beginning with visitation at 10:00 am, followed by a service at 11:00 am. A reception will follow at Hoover Christian Church.
