Robert C. Perdue, 76, of Platte City MO died Thursday, January 4, 2024. Robert was born on May 7, 1947, in Oakland, California to Bertie “Bob” and Dorothy (Doiel) Perdue. Robert was a graduate of Missouri Western State College and served honorably as a Petty Officer Second Class in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Saratoga. He was united in marriage to Gloria on February 2, 1989. Gloria survives of the home. Following his military service, Robert worked as a police officer and in both federal and state corrections for over thirty years. He retired as Deputy Warden of the Norton Correctional Facility in Norton, Kansas. Robert is also survived by his children Heidi (Scott) Sartain of Bellevue, Nebraska; Sarah (Kurt) Schlanker of Parkville, Missouri; and Matthew (Ashley) Perdue of Hutchinson, Kansas; his six grandchildren: Joseph, Levi, Alex, Sam, Cameron, and Grace; four great-grandchildren: Rebecca, Augustine, Quinn, and Sylas; and his brother George (Penny) Perdue. Robert was preceded in death by his parents. A proud fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, watching westerns and war movies, and loving on their dogs, Bogie and Brutus. Memorial donations may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. A visitation will be held Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 9am at the Rollins Funeral Home followed by a service at 10am with burial and Military honors at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth Kansas at 11Am.
