2 hospitalized after trailers detach from SUV and it overturns

ANDREW COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just after 3:30p.m. Monday in Andrew County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 1999 Ford Expedition pulling two trailers and driven by Elaine E. Moore, 24, Hiawtha, was northbound on Interstate 229 three miles north of St. Joseph.

The driver lost control of the the SUV. It traveled off the east side of the road, struck the bridge rail and a mile marker sign. The trailers became detached and the SUV traveled down an embankment and overturned. 

Andrew County EMS transported Moore and a passenger Jeffrey S. Davis 44, Hiawatha, to Mosaic Life Care. Moore was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
