Gladys Harris, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on May 23, 2023. She was born on October 16, 1931, in International Falls, Minnesota, to Raymond and Julia (Domish) Dardis.
She was a proud graduate of the University of Minnesota, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Journalism. Throughout her life, she put her knowledge and skills to use in numerous ways. Gladys had many jobs which included roles as a social worker, grant writer, teacher, and a dedicated worker for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Outside her work, Gladys loved to travel and she journeyed to various parts of the world. She loved taking drives across the countryside, marveling at the abundant colors in nature. Gladys was fascinated with archeology, attending clubs to expand her knowledge.
Gladys found joy in expressing herself through painting and ceramics. Her creativity and talent for bringing her ideas to life were evident in her beautiful and unique creations.
Gladys had a special fondness for cats, forming deep connections with her beloved feline companions. Her gentle, nurturing nature was undeniable, as she cared for these creatures with unwavering devotion.
With her love and care, Gladys built a beautiful family. She is survived by her children: Mike Harris (Esther), Julie Gouge, Susan, Tony (Carol), and Linda Harris. Gladys was immensely proud to be the grandmother of five grandchildren and the great-grandmother of seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews to cherish her memory. Gladys has now joined her parents, Raymond and Julia (Domish) Dardis, as well as her sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Gerald Ginter, in eternal rest.
