The Skidmore man charged with two counts of first-degree murder stemming from an incident in April is now facing additional charges after allegedly trying to escape jail.
According to court documents, 20 year old Keevin J. Maupin has now been charged with first-degree assault, attempted escape from confinement by striking a person, and damage to the jail or jail property. The three felonies are added on to the charges Maupin is already facing.
Maupin was charged with two felony counts of first-degree murder and two felony counts of armed criminal action stemming from an incident on April 19th just north of Skidmore. Authorities said Maupin allegedly killed two women, 32-year-old Liberty Moore and 58-year-old Karen Babcock, inside a house.
Maupin will be back in court at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 18th, in the Division 1 Courtroom at the Nodaway County Courthouse.
