Kay Diane (Sandusky) Beattie, 84, of Savannah, MO, passed away Thursday,September 14, 2023.
Kay was born October 10, 1938 in St. Joseph, Missouri to the late, Lawrence andLucile (Rutherford) Sandusky, and was a 1956 graduate of Central High School.
Kay was united in marriage to Billy P. Beattie on December 14, 1958, they made their home on the family farm, where they raised their children, Sherry and Steve. Kay was a devoted wife and mother and was a caregiver for her husband until his passing On August 10, 2022.
She was a member of Savannah United Methodist Church and would often befound volunteering for her church and children’s school activities. She enjoyedknitting, reading, cooking, baking and family time.
Kay is survived by her daughter, Sherry Tunks (Martin) and son, Steve Beattie;four grandsons, Tyler Tunks, Andrew Tunks (Ashley), Mitchell Tunks (Maddie) andAustin Beattie; five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Charlotte, Benjamin, Boston andRosie; sister, Kathy Love (Jim); niece, Stacy Martin; nephew, Scott Love andextended family.
Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel; where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Inurnment Savannah Cemetery, Savannah, Missouri In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Savannah United Methodist Church or the Rolling Hills Library-Savannah Branch.
