Mary Frances McCune, 79, St. Joseph, Missouri, died Friday, February 27, 2026 at a local health care facility.
Mary was born on January 14, 1947 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She earned a degree in elementary education from Missouri Western State University.
She served in the United States Army, where she worked in helicopter maintenance. She retired from Western Regional Diagnostic and Correctional Center where she worked in the commissary.
Mary was a member of North Church of God; Dis-Abled American Veterans and was a long-time volunteer at the former Military Heritage Museum.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas K. and Alice L. (Mignery) Gallant; her twin brother, Jerry Gallant; brother, Alvin Gallant; and sisters, Clara Mae Kilgore and Claudia Fish.
Survivors: her sister, Carol Russell of Bedford, Iowa; her brother, Emile Gallant, Wichita, Kansas; nieces and nephews, Dena Sherer, St. Joseph, Missouri, Stephanie McGarry, St. Joseph, Carla Squires, Arizona, Richard Clark, Maryville, Missouri, Cindy Terry, Bethany, Missouri and Larry Fish, Trimble, Missouri; and great nieces and great nephews.
