Karen Sisk Riggs 70, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023 at her home. She was born March 20, 1953 in Aurora, CO, daughter of Glennis and Clayton Sisk. She graduated from Benton High School, class of 1971, and she attended Missouri Western State College. Karen retired after 28 years from Saxton Nursing Home, where she worked in Human Resources. Her favorite hobby was flower gardening. She also volunteered at the Haven House, where she was previously recognized as volunteer of the year. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Phillip Sisk, maternal grandparents, Dolly and Kenneth Kerns, and paternal grandparents, Porter and Lottie Sisk. Survivors include: her son, David (Tamara) Vannaman of Jacksonville, FL, grandsons, Dakota, Sheay, and Hunter Vannaman, great-grandchildren, Sheamus, Rosalie, and Lorcan, and a sister, Linda Sisk of Walnut Creek, CA.Ms. Riggs has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Rupp Funeral Home.
