Rosa Mae Gardner 1926 - 2023

Rosa Mae Gardner, 97, of Dearborn, MO passed away November 27, 2023. 

 She was born on April 6, 1926, to Charles E. and Eliza Elizabeth (Evans) Short in Greenwood, MO. Rosa grew up and attended school in Pleasant Hill, MO. 

She married Fred W. Gardner and they made their home in Dearborn. Fred passed away in 2001.

Rosa drove a school bus for the North Platte School District before working in the restaurant at the Holiday Inn by the airport in Kansas City for many years. She later worked at the Gower Convalescent Center where she everyone’s “Granny” until she had to retire after she broke her hip at the age of 92. Rosa enjoyed gardening and reading. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and was a wonderful Mamie to her many grand and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Gardner, her son Clattie Melvin Burrow, and one brother.

Rosa is survived by her children Shirley Bottom, Richard Burrow and Jeanie Moulyn; grandchildren Elicia Taylor, Patrick Kelley, Sherrie Coulter, and Melissa Bottom; great-grandchildren Caysen Kelley and Drake, Mason and Peyton Nickell; great-great-granddaughter Haven Grace Nickell; her brothers and sisters Tommy (Sue) Short, Ida Wilkerson, Myrtle Green, and Patty (Joe) Strumph; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 30th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Gower.

Private Burial will be held at Dearborn Cemetery.
