Larry Joseph Schroeder, 83, of Platte City, MO passed away September 24, 2025.
He was born on May 4, 1942, to Francis John and Loretta Josephine (Koehler) Schroeder in Beatrice, NE. Larry grew up in Hanover, KS and graduated from Hanover High School. He served his country in the U.S. Airforce during the Vietnam War.
Larry worked for TWA, later retiring from American Airlines. He served on City Council for North Kansas City, was a member of the Ararat Shriners of Kansas City and volunteered little league baseball coach in the North Kansas City area.
On December 7, 1990, he was united in marriage to Sharon Kay Turner. After their marriage they lived in Platte City where they made their home. They loved to travel to Branson where he loved to golf.
He was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Loretta Schroeder; and his brother-in-law Ed Ryser.
Larry is survived by his wife Sharon Kay Schroeder; his daughters Tiffany (Doug) Lanman, Teri (Cary) Stronach and Debbie (John) Burkin; grandchildren Rob, Jennifer, Natalie, Taylor, Payton, Brandon and Jacob; six great-grandchildren; his sister Connie Ryser; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with Funeral Services with Military Honors at 11:00 Thursday, October 2nd at the Frist Baptist Church of Platte City. Private family burial will be held at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery. Donations may be made to Parkville Women’s Clinic or the First Baptist Church of Platte City.
